Before heading to Sepang to get your hands on the 2023 Honda RC213V, Álex Rins has presented with Hawkers his latest collection of glasses called ‘Ride for real’, a limited edition that this year also includes spectacular snow goggles.

Taking advantage of the launch of his new collection, the Barcelona rider has offered an interview in which he talks about the ambitious challenge that lies ahead with the LCR Honda Team on a motorcycle, the RC213V, that has been giving its pilots real headaches for about three yearsincluding Marc Marquez.

Catalan waits “give it all this year” within the ranks of Honda’s satellite team, and believes that “Changes are good because they help you improve and put you in situations outside of your comfort zone. I see this season as a great challenge. I have the challenge of putting Honda back on top, of developing the bike, of adapting to a new team… it’s a season to grow in every way.”

The 27-year-old makes no secret that his last six seasons at Suzuki have been “very intense” because there he formed “A great family, but now it’s time to look ahead and give everything in this new project“next to the LCR Honda, a box in which he has found himself “distinct” states, “from the bike itself to the configuration of the box and where the technicians are, something that I have asked to change so that communication flows better and we can work better, in my opinion”.

Addressing his objectives with the LCR Honda Team, Rins calms expectations arguing that right now “It’s too early to say, we still have a lot of test sessions to go and I’m sure there will be big changes now that Kenwith whom I shared a garage at Suzuki, is also part of HRC”.

Number 42 is happy to see Marc Márquez in practically perfect physical condition, having already recovered from the discomfort in his right arm that has prevented him from riding correctly and contributing to the development of Honda for the last three years: “MotoGP must have the best riders on the track, but it is also key for Honda if we want to make a competitive bike again. I hope that between your comments, Joan’s and mine, we get it, so it’s great that he is recovered.”

About his rivals for this 2023, Rins says “not wanting to talk about them” because before that “you have to look outside, I think we have to look at ourselves, make a competitive bike and adapt to a different driving style than what we were used to”.

During this last winter we have seen the former Suzuki driver ride his Honda CBR 1000 RR-R on several Spanish circuits, practice motocross, play a dirt-track race at Rocco’s Ranch and, of course, hit the irons hard on the gym. Álex summarizes his preseason as “very intense”, two months in which they have not missed “several double training sessions in the gym, constant outings to train on a motorcycle… Even so, in general our method remains the same as in previous seasons except for food, since it will soon be a year that I am a vegetarian“.

Finally, addressing the launch of his latest collection of sunglasses with Hawkers, Rins says that “It’s been like redesigning my first collection. This is a very important year for me. I’m in Honda LCR, a team I’ve always dreamed of being in, and I wanted to reflect that in the collection, taking inspiration from Honda colours. It is brutal to be able to launch a pair of glasses to practice one of my passions, which is mountain sports. We have been with Hawkers since Moto2 and it has always been a lot of fun designing the collection, but on this occasion it has been quite an experience to get involved from scratch in the choice of the frame, the lenses, the strap… so I am very proud of the final result and I hope you enjoy it”, Spanish ends.
