SJ Surya decides to sue Hindi remake of ‘Wali’ in Supreme Court

by time news

Wali is a 1999 film directed by SJ Surya and starring Ajith and Simran. In this, Ajith played two roles as the protagonist and the villain. Wally became the turning point film for him. Producer Bonnie Kapoor has reportedly bought the rights to remake the film in Hindi and work on a remake is set to begin next year.

SJ Surya has already dismissed the ongoing case in court against the Wali Hindi remake. It is said that SJ Surya wants to act himself if Ajith Kumar does not act in the Hindi remake of Wali. It has been reported that SJ Surya is likely to appeal to the Supreme Court against the Wali Hindi remake as the screenplay is his own, taking advantage of a recent court ruling in the Aranya Kandham film case that the remake rights belong to the screenwriter, though the dubbing rights to the film remain with the producer. Thus, there is a problem in remaking the movie Wali in Hindi.
