At the Aurus plant in Yelabuga in Tatarstan, mass production of the Aurus Komendant SUV has begun. The company announced this in its Telegram channel.
“The Aurus plant in Tatarstan has started mass production of the first Russian luxury SUV,” the report says.
The launch of production in the company was called “an unprecedented start” for the domestic auto industry. It is noted that the SUV has become the second model of the brand, the assembly of which began at the plant, which opened less than a year and a half ago.
Aurus emphasized that 70% of the materials and components used in the production of the car are Russian. We are talking about machine components, power plant, transmission, electronics, interior and decorative solutions.
The presentation of Aurus Komendant took place on September 29. The car is equipped with a 598 horsepower engine. Buyers can choose from nine colors, as well as seven trim options, including two-tone. The SUV will go on sale in the first quarter of 2023. Its cost will be 33.7 million rubles.
