Telegram adds translation of messages and lowers the premium subscription

The first update of the Telegram application for 2023 includes some nice innovations, including a new tool for creating profile pictures based on a sticker or an animated emoji. The profile pictures can be used for personal accounts, groups or channels, and Telegram emphasizes that the tool is open to everyone and not just to premium subscribers.

An innovation that is exclusive to paying subscribers is the possibility to translate an entire conversation and not just one message. On this occasion, Telegram announces the possibility of paying in advance for a year for the premium subscription, at a discount of about 40 percent compared to the monthly payment.

More innovations in this version: categories for stickers and emojis for faster searching and locating, an option to automatically save files on the device by type and various parameters such as file size, and a new menu for measuring the amount of network traffic that the application consumes.

Group administrators can now define for all group members what types of media they can share, such as photos, voice recordings, or video messages. Telegram also promises improvements for bot creators, ten new emoji sets with hundreds of designs, and interactive emojis for one-on-one conversations. The update is of course free and available now for Android and iOS users.
