Niccolò Zaniolo celebrates (Reuters)
Galatasaray is on the way to a new acquisition. The Turkish club is close to a full agreement with Roma on the addition of Niccolò Zaniolo, who will leave the Italian capital after four years in the team’s uniform, reports transfer wizard Fabrizio Romano this evening (Monday).
The midfielder, who was considered one of the greatest talents in the land of the boot, experienced quite a few serious injuries that prevented him from breaking through and realizing his potential, and now the team from Istanbul hopes that the Italian will explode under them. According to Fabrizio, Zaniolo will fly to Turkey tomorrow after concluding his terms with the team, with his release clause amounting to around 35 million euros.
The transfer window in Turkey only closed on the eighth of February, so the transfer of the 23-year-old midfielder is possible. The Italian made 128 appearances in the Giallorossi uniform, in which he scored 24 goals and added 18 assists. Now, Zaniolo will try to revive his career in a new league, with Galatasaray at the top of the table in their league, with a gap of nine points from the second-placed Fernandez.
