Chennai,- The Department of Cooperatives and Food has directed the Consumer Goods Trading Corporation to ‘supply’ the rice quota to the ration shops.

In Tamil, an average of 32 crore kg of rice is required per month to ration. It is procured from Food Corporation of India.

Distribution of goods for this month in ration shops started from 1st. Still the stores are not fully supplied with rice.

Accordingly, the Department of Cooperatives and Food has directed the Consumer Goods Corporation to supply the rice quota to all the shops.
