Ten years ago, Anitta released her first album, with the hit “Show das Poderosas”, which gave her fame in the beginning.
However, the singer has just competed for the award for best new artist at the Grammys, which were held this Sunday (5), in Los Angeles (USA) and which ended up in the hands of singer Samar Joy.
This is because the Grammy is given by the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, an American institution, and has a habit of recognizing music made in the US and some European countries.
Thus, despite being known to the Brazilian public for years, Anitta has only recently appeared before the Americans.
The singer’s nomination was the result of a job to disseminate her work in the country together with the most influential music industry in the world.
It was a process that began with the 2019 album “Kisses”, but intensified with “Versions of Me”, released last year with several songs in English and with renowned pop producers from the North American country.
One of the most important steps to gain this visibility was the song “Envolver”, which reached the top spot on Spotify’s global ranking and carved out Anitta’s name on the international pop scene.
Likewise, in the first half of 2022, the Brazilian sang on one of the main stages of the famous Coachella festival, which is held annually in California.
