WhatsApp’s competing feature in Instagram’s story is the status, which allows you to upload photos and messages for only 24 hours, to all your contacts. But the status was not a huge success like the thriving story, and at “Meta” WhatsApp they probably decided to think and make a number of changes. The innovations in the application will start from today (Tuesday) for all iOS devices, Android and the computer application.
1. A limited list
Just like in Instagram’s “Close Friends”, now it will be possible to choose also in WhatsApp who among your contacts can view the statuses you upload.
2. Voice messages
Another update of the status in WhatsApp is the possibility to publish voice messages, just like in the chat itself. For all fans of long and viral recordings this will be a great opportunity to publish their recordings to all close friends.
3. Emoji comments
The new update that allows you to respond to messages with emojis is also coming to the status, and now it will be possible to send the selected emoji to the status you saw. Did the boyfriend’s status make you laugh? Just click on the crying emoji.
4. Colored marking
There are few users who specifically enter the status position to keep up with the latest statuses that have been uploaded. The new WhatsApp update marks your contacts who have uploaded statuses in a circle around their profile picture in the chat. This way you can easily keep up to date with any status that comes up.
5. Preview
When a friend’s or acquaintance’s link status goes up, we usually don’t even bother to click. The new update allows a preview of what is inside the link, so that we know in advance whether it is relevant to us and we should click.
