Prince Harry calls for children and young people to be nominated for the WellChild charity award.

Prince Harry (38) is patron of the British charity WellChild, which has been helping sick children and young people for decades. To support the work of the team, the Royal reports with a personal video message on Twitter.

Cost of living creates “huge pressure”

He has been the patron of the organization for 15 years now. Harry is “extremely grateful for the work WellChild is doing and moved by the stories I hear and the people I meet,” he says in the clip. Among other things, the 38-year-old highlights how the charity enables seriously ill children and young people to live with their parents.

The parents are not only faced with countless medical or logistical challenges. The cost-of-living crisis also brings “huge pressure” with it. Despite this, families supported by WellChild continue to show “resilience and strength” that is inspiring.

In the clip, Harry also thanks the many helpers, including doctors, nurses and teachers. And he calls for nominating inspiring children or young people for the annual WellChild Awards. He always looks forward to meeting the young winners.

Prince Harry Missed Wellchild Awards Because of Queen Elizabeth II

In 2022, Prince Harry actually wanted to attend the WellChild Awards in London in person, but he had to cancel at short notice due to his grandmother’s deteriorating health. Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) died in early September.

In a video conference later published on YouTube, Harry had apologized to little Henry, among other things, for not being able to meet him in person. “My name is Henry too, but everyone calls me Harry. I have no idea why,” he told the boy and his parents. They told the royal they already knew that. Prince Harry was the inspiration for her child’s name.
