The minister has appointed a council to study Malayali students going abroad for higher studies

Thiruvananthapuram: Higher Education Minister R. Bindu said that the Higher Education Council has been tasked to study the issue of students from Kerala going abroad for higher studies. The government’s action comes at a time when the debate is active at various levels for and against Malayalis going to study abroad en masse.

Questions were raised several times by the opposition regarding this issue. The opposition had alleged that the children were going abroad because of the poor quality of education, and that the higher education department had failed in this regard.

In response to this, Minister R. Bindu explained the government’s actions. The minister explained that the Higher Education Council has been tasked to study the matter. The minister said that the council will give a report soon after which it will take further steps.
