The OnePlus keyboard comes with mechanical keys and a dedicated dial

As promised, OnePlus officially unveiled the OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro, a mechanical keyboard developed in collaboration with the well-known manufacturer Keychron. In fact, according to the photos, it is probably mainly a rebranding of the Keychron Q1 Pro, a wireless keyboard in a 75% configuration – a relatively compact keyboard without a numeric keypad.

The switches of the keys are offered in two versions, which One Plus claims are exclusive to this keyboard and are made of a new plastic material called Marble Mallow which is said to combine the addictive feeling of typing on a mechanical keyboard, impressive response speed and durability. In the upper right corner is installed a kind of dial that can be used to control the volume, choose weapons, and in fact any other use, with the possibility of adjustment through software.

The keyboard includes a colored backlight, it is made of aluminum, and comes with a metal stand that allows for height adjustment – an innovation that does not exist in the original version. The battery has a capacity of 4,000 mAh and should be enough for up to 100 hours of use with the lighting on, and 300 without the lighting. The connection to the computer is made via a USB-C cable or a wireless Bluetooth 5.1 connection for a range of up to 10 meters.

The keyboard will arrive in stores in April, and the price will only be revealed closer to the launch date. The Keychron Q1 Pro retails for $199, so it’s likely that the OnePlus Keyboard 81 Pro will be similarly priced.
