Erode East Constituency Congress MLA Thirumagan Evera passed away on 27th by-election.

In the DMK alliance, EVKS Elangovan represented the Congress and KS represented the AIADMK. S. Anand on behalf of Southern Government, Democratic Party, Maneka on behalf of Naam Tamilar Party and others have filed their nomination papers. On the occasion of the by-elections, political parties have started campaigning in the constituency in Erode.

It has been reported that 121 nominations have been taken up for consideration and 83 have been accepted.

In this situation, tomorrow has been announced as the last day to withdraw nominations in the by-election.
