New Delhi: Tamil Nadu is at the 3rd position in terms of the number of cases filed regarding the circulation of fake currency.

In 2021, according to the National Crime Branch, maximum 82 cases have been registered in West Bengal, 75 cases in Assam and 62 cases in Tamil Nadu. Maharashtra 55, Rajasthan 54, Uttar Pradesh 42 cases have been reported next.

In 2021, 639 cases were registered and investigated across India.

Police arrested 2 persons in Assam and West Bengal yesterday who were in possession of 33 lakh counterfeit notes.
