At the executive meeting that took place today (Thursday) at the management of the Premier League in basketball, the subject of the play-in system was brought up for discussion, in order to introduce it into the league in the near future. The members of the committee discussed the issue in depth and it was decided that it will come up again in the event that the number of teams in the league increases to 14.
As a reminder, yesterday the directorate announced that it will examine the possibility of adding a stage between the regular season and the quarterfinals of the playoffs, in order to raise the level of interest around the league, which is expected to grow in the near future to 13 teams and later to 14.
Beyond that, the members of the executive committee today recommended that a proposal be made at the board meeting to change the playoff series to five games in all stages, or five games in the semi-final series and three games in the final series. Today, the playoffs are played using the best of five games method only in the quarterfinals, after which the series lasts up to three games at most.
