former agent convicted of murder

by time news

The jury in the George Floyd murder trial found Derek Chauvin, the former police officer who killed the 46-year-old African American by holding his knee on the victim’s neck for more than 9 minutes, guilty. The former agent was found guilty by the jury on all three counts.

The jury decided quickly, after ten hours of discussion and without asking the Minneapolis court for clarification. It will now be up to Judge Peter Cahill to fix the size of the sentences, within six to eight weeks. The former Minneapolis police officer was convicted of all charges by a Hennepin County Court jury. The 12 jurors found him guilty of manslaughter, unintentional second degree murder and third degree murder.
