Types of bone cancer
According to the Department of Health, bone cancer is divided into separate types based on the type of cell in which the cancer began and includes the following:
1- Osteosarcoma: It is the most common type of bone cancer. Cancer cells in this tumor produce bone. This type of bone cancer often occurs among children and young adults in the bones of the leg or arm.
2- Chondrosarcoma: It is the second most common type of bone cancer. The cancerous cells in this tumor produce cartilage. Chondrosarcoma usually occurs in the pelvis, legs, or arms in middle-aged and older adults.
3- Ewing’s sarcoma: Ewing’s sarcoma tumors most often arise in the pelvis, legs, or arms in children and young adults.
