Marauders suspended after the assault of three people by a homeless person

by time news

The homeless people of Périgueux can no longer count on the marauding of the Support Association of the Dordogne since Tuesday. She announced the suspension after three assaults that occurred between January 27 and February 7. A difficult but essential decision “to protect our volunteers and employees who take time and who do not have to bear the trauma of this violence”, justified the president to France Bleu Périgord.

The first attack took place on January 27 during a collective distribution. A homeless man insulted and threatened to kill two marauders. A week later, this same man assaulted the night watchman of the association’s medical accommodation center after breaking and entering. Finally, on Tuesday, the individual attempted to hit a crew.

He had already hit a volunteer

No one was injured during these successive attacks. Three complaints have been filed against this forties known to justice. A psychological unit has been set up for the association’s volunteers and employees.

The violent homeless man had already hit a volunteer from the association in early 2022 and the marauding had been suspended, notes the regional radio.
