The 8th Women’s Cricket World Cup is being held in South Africa. 10 teams in two divisions have participated in this tournament which will be held till February 26.

Five teams namely Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are in Group A and five teams are in Group B namely India, Pakistan, England, West Indies and Ireland.

At the end of the league round, the top two teams in both divisions will qualify for the semi-finals.

Today, two league matches are going to be held in Parl. England and West Indies will face each other in the match which will be held at 6.30 pm Indian time.

Another match between Australia and New Zealand will be played at 10.30 pm. India will face Pakistan in their first league match tomorrow.

India’s opener and vice-captain Smriti Mandana is still in doubt for the match against Pakistan as he is yet to recover from an injury to his left finger sustained during a practice match.

It is also noteworthy that Smriti Mandhana did not participate in the second practice match against Bangladesh.

It has been officially announced that Smriti will not play in the first league match. It is reported that he will withdraw from the first match due to injury.

Fans are commenting that Mandana’s absence in the first match against Pakistan is a big loss for the Indian team.
