Cloud monitoring of cleaning services: a made in Italy solution

by time news

A made in Italy technological tool for the performance of the contracted cleaning and disinfection service, in the public/private healthcare sector and in the civil sector: it is the Claudit management platform, native to the cloud and was conceived by Claudio Campion and Paolo Sbardellati, of the company FMSpecialist. “Hygiene, cleaning, sanitation and disinfection, in the health sector, have become central and extremely topical issues, especially with the tragic experience of Covid, but they should also remain so in ordinary public debate”, he said Campion. “It is necessary to guarantee the appropriateness and safety, not only of healthcare services, but also of hospital environments, in the interest of both the patient and the healthcare professional himself. The starting point of this project is the reduction of clinical risk which, for us, has become a real corollary. There should never be a case where a patient goes to hospital and risks becoming ill or worsening due to substandard housekeeping. We can certainly say that if all the structures in the healthcare world had already launched safety protocols like ours during the pandemic, the virus, especially at first, would not have found fertile ground for contagion”.

“Fortunately, the sector is transforming. In the new tenders, the Cleaning and Disinfection Services are starting to be rewarded”, he continues. “And this is a change that I consider necessary. We have been talking about it for years, never as in this delicate moment has it perhaps become feasible. The causes of the lack of change are various and often interrelated. Among them there is undoubtedly the lack of personnel and economic resources in the Health Trusts to carry out the verification and control of the service. Furthermore, we have to deal with the absence of a single IT tool that allows the sharing in real time of the various activities carried out between the administration of the Organization and the service manager. INAIL has also recently expressed its opinion on the matter, inserting within the new directive the importance of a third-party, technological and effective control and monitoring system of cleaning and disinfection services in healthcare facilities. INAIL has in fact implemented an ODG, presented about a year ago, to the Chamber of Deputies and in other regional offices, which underlined what we have been affirming for years: the clinical risk and the proliferation of viral and infectious diseases in healthcare and social health problems are closely related to lack of hygiene, one of the main causes of death in our hospitals. It is essential, as underlined by INAIL, that in new tenders there is always a control system that guarantees the sharing of information on the service provided between the contracting authority and the contractor”.
