Kentucky ∙ Robert Pannell (55), a native of Florida, was arrested in the incident of beating a couple for not giving them a cigarette lighter and entering the hotel and shooting dead the employee. After the problem with the couple, the accused entered the hotel with a handgun. Then he opened fire. A few people were nearby at the time, but no one else was injured. A short time later, the man threw the gun into the hotel lobby, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office said.
Robert, a native of Palm Coast, Florida, stayed at this hotel. It is not clear what provoked the accused. The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing. He was booked into the McCracken County Jail.
