Dodi Amsalem attacked Aharon Barak from the Knesset pulpit: “the head of the instigators”

The legal reform storm: Member of Knesset Dodi Amsalem today (Monday) attacked former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak from the Knesset podium: “How come you didn’t find a Moroccan judge. You looked, you didn’t find it, it’s hard. Only your guys are geniuses, only you are a genius.”

Protest against the reform: “I hope Netanyahu will not want to leave a legacy of destruction”
Levin and Rothman: “Our offices contacted Lapid and Gantz to coordinate a meeting with the President”

He also attacked: “You are breaking the written law, you say it will be decided with tanks, I am a tank driver but I don’t know where I am going. The head of the instigators, I don’t know how you are not under police investigation today. Look at your audacity, the bullying. This struggle, it is not about the laws”.

“There is a real struggle here as to whether the elite will continue to run the country. You are ready to give us titles but not manage, you have never received that in your life. Not in the security systems, the judiciary, academia, culture and of course in the prosecutor’s office and the Supreme Court,” he added.

He referred to the legal reform: “We will make the revolution under your nose and under your seal, whoever breaks the law will be in prison. We will go with it to the end, that is the role of this government. We will go with it until we transfer the State of Israel to a democratic state, and not as it is Today. The State of Israel today is not a democratic state, you control everything, everyone is obliged to the law.”

The Speaker of the Knesset, Amir Ohana, previously criticized the behavior of the opposition members in the plenary: “I find it appropriate to congratulate every effort and attempt, in this house and outside, to hold meetings between members and members of the Knesset on both sides of the house – and to reach understandings. The scenes we saw today in the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee are not of this type. These are not the sights the Israeli public should witness when they raise their eyes to the Knesset. The public for the most part is not extreme one way or the other, and this behavior does not add respect to this house, to say the least. I urge the members and members of the Knesset to respect this house.”

He also added that “I want to praise the Knesset ushers and ushers who acted professionally and efficiently as always, day and night, under every Knesset speaker and every committee chairman, and condemn any action or statement against them, whether by a Knesset member or by another person. All Knesset employees They do their best to allow all the members of the house to act in the best way and go out of their way to do so – they are not here to serve as a punching bag and take out the frustrations of any of the members of the house. After all the arguments and bickering – the State of Israel was and will remain a democracy.”
