Mother’s rebuke – 14-year-old boy who took his own life – Tragedy in Yali!

There has been an incident where a boy committed suicide due to his mother’s reprimand.

The said incident took place in one of the areas under Savagacherry police division.

It is said that the 14-year-old boy took this wrong decision after his mother reprimanded him for coming home after drinking alcohol.

The said boy was about to take his own life, he was admitted to Savagacherry Aadar Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Jaffna Teaching Hospital for further treatment and he died.

Investigations into the death are being conducted by the Savagacherry Police and the Jaffna Teaching Hospital Sudden Death Investigation Officer.
