Warning: Do not post travel details and photos on social media

Residents of the UAE are advised not to post their travel details and photos on social media. A long holiday of up to 9 days has been declared from yesterday in many scheme schools in the country. It is in this context that the UAE Public Prosecution has warned the people.

By sharing information about the long journey and places of visit of students and families during this holiday on public platforms, their personal information and travel plans will be available not only to their friends and relatives, but to all people.

Such a warning has been given in view of the high possibility of anti-social people taking advantage of this. The authority has advised the people by taking a case where a person’s house was robbed after posting the details of his journey online.

Dubai Police also regularly advise travelers not to post pictures of their boarding passes on social media.

Boarding passes contain bar codes and other personal information. The police say that we ourselves should not give opportunities to criminal gangs to access such personal information.
