Archaeologists have studied in 2021 and 2022 the ancient Roman city of Augustóbriga, which is a site that is submerged in the Valdecañas reservoir in Extremadura and which becomes visible when the level of the swamp drops in periods of drought. Thus, the archaeologist and technician from the National Museum of Roman Art (MNAR) in Mérida, José María Murciano, has detailed that they have been “for two years documenting” the place and “the entire structure in order to protect the site.”
