“The situation on the front line, especially in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, remains extremely difficult. It is literally a battle for every meter of Ukrainian land,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said last night in his daily address. “Every meter gained there is a defense of our whole country. Every day that our heroes endure in Bakhmut, Vuhledar, Maryinka and other towns and communities in Donbass means the reduction of Russian aggression for weeks. This is where the unprecedented destruction of Russian potential is currently taking place,” he argued, amid rumors yesterday of the possible withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Bakhmout.
