Before being a cartoon, “Georgie” was a manga created by Mann Izawa and Yumiko Igarashi in 1982. The comics then became a 45-episode anime and met with enormous success, but not everything went smoothly between the authors… The designer Igarashi he made merchandising arrangements for the cartoon without consulting the co-author (as had already happened with “Candy Candy”) and earned himself a trip to court.
