Chennai: Poomari, 30, belongs to Paramakkudy, Ramanathapuram district. A case was registered against her in 2020 at the Paramakkudy All Women Police Station under the Sexual Assault Act.

Poomari absconded when the police came looking for him. Subsequently, he was declared a wanted criminal.

In this case, Poomari arrived in Chennai yesterday on an Oman flight from Muscat, the capital of Oman. When his travel documents were examined by the citizenship authorities, it was revealed that he was a wanted criminal by the Ramanathapuram police.

After informing the Ramanathapuram police, the officials handed Poomari over to the Chennai airport police.
