In the “Outstanding Startup Competition” held at the ‘First Conference for Innovation in Agriculture’, as part of the largest agricultural exhibition in Israel that opened today (Wednesday), a revolutionary Israeli development – the world’s first tomato-picking robot – won by the agrotech company MetoMotion, which has already begun marketing internationally.
Among the agricultural crops launched at the exhibition: ‘Carplex’, a sharp and sweet cabbage variety, from the Dutch Bajo company, which was popularized in Israel by the “Gadot Agro” company as a niche product for restaurateurs, as part of the new trend for cabbage dishes in the oven as well as for stuffed cabbage, which is more convenient to work with. , launched ‘Gadot Agro’ a new variety of curly cabbage as another niche product for restaurateurs and foodies and a new variety “Casablanca” – a giant pumpkin from Israeli development, with a long shelf life of six months, sweet with a texture and taste that is preserved over time.

‘Gedera-Syngenta Seeds’ launched the ‘Mini Cauliflower’ variety, the ‘Bayer AB Zareim’ company launched the ‘Rocket’ watermelon variety which was harvested about a month before everyone else, the ‘Kedma’ company from Moshav Idan launched the first harvested commercial summer raspberry And marketed at the height of winter, thanks to R&D research (research and development) Middle Prairie for the cultivation of summery sweet raspberries specifically in winter.

As part of the exhibition, Bezeq CEO Ran Goraon awarded scholarships for research in the field of agriculture to outstanding students, from the scholarship fund named after his late father Yair Goraon, founder and first director of the research station in Arava.

In the exhibition that covers 20 dunams, over 200 companies from Israel and the world present the latest innovations in the fields of precise and innovative agriculture, off-road vehicles, advanced mechanization, solar electricity, water conservation, new varieties of vegetables and more.
