Thiruvananthapuram:Kaladi Jayan (72), a film serial actor and producer of several serials, passed away at Kaladi Pilingal House in Manakkad. He was being treated for stomach ailment. He died at a private hospital in the capital on Wednesday evening.
Real name is P. Ramachandran. He was an officer of Titanium. He adopted the name Kaladi Jayan when he was active in the field of art. He came to the stage of acting through professional dramas and has acted in around 100 films such as Kariyam, Kilakalam, Apoorham Kokchi, Chiri Loka and Bigi Bimanar. The character of Azhakappan in Mazhavilkkavadi was remarkable. He has also acted in many serials. The character of Netravati with GK Pillai in the serial called Samayam caught the attention of the audience. Kaladi Jayan’s homestead has given freebies to the shooting of many Malayalam films.
