Urupema-SC has frost forecast for Carnival
February is a month marked by Carnival revelry in Brazil and, as far as the weather is concerned, heat and rain showers mark the period. However, a city in Serra Catarinense may experience a somewhat different forecast.
According to the Climatempo website, the city of Urupema-SC has a frost forecast for Saturday (18) and Sunday (19) of the holiday. The temperature range on Saturday will be 18 degrees, with a minimum of 2°C and a maximum of 20°C.
On Sunday, the minimum temperature will be 3°C, while the maximum will be 23°C. Despite the expectation of frost and low temperature at the beginning of the day, both Saturday and Sunday will be very sunny days with no forecast of precipitation in the mountain town.
The explanation for these low temperatures in the middle of February is the entry of a high pressure system that arrives along with the cold front, bringing cold winds to the south of the country.
Forecast in capitals known for Carnival blocks
Considered the street Carnival capital, Salvador will stage the festivity from Friday, which is expected to reach a maximum of 31°. The temperature will drop to a maximum of 29° on Saturday and there is a 70% chance of isolated rain in various parts of the city.
On Sunday, the weather improves, reaching 30°. The sky will be partly cloudy and the chance of rain is only 20%. But the weather turns on Monday, as there is a forecast of 40% of rain. Finally, on Tuesday, there is a possibility of a 50% storm, with the largest amount expected to occur at dawn.
Cariocas, on the other hand, will start Carnival with high temperatures, given that the maximum for Friday is 33°C. But the rain will make the thermometer drop to 29° on Saturday – a day that will have rain across the city and with thunderstorms – and 27° on Sunday.

Monday and Tuesday will still face rain, but in isolated spots. The temperature will rise again in the last two days of revelry, according to the weather forecast.
In addition to facing rain, people from São Paulo will also have to live with the low temperature. On Friday, the maximum will be 29°, but the thermometers will fall from 19h, reaching 23°.
On Saturday, the maximum is 24° and the minimum is 18°. The chance of rain during the afternoon is almost 95% and will occur throughout the city. On Sunday, the maximum will be 22° and the minimum 18°, with rain. Thunderstorms will occur on Monday and Tuesday, with a maximum of 26° and a minimum of 19°.
