Tim Burton’s Project Wins By Luck

Tim Burton’s first serial project received very mixed reviews after the premiere, but even the most angry reviews did not prevent the show from becoming a big hit. Although this happened not so much because of the extraordinary nature of the series itself, but by coincidence.

According to Samba TV, “Wednesday” outperformed heavyweights like “House of the Dragon”, “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” and “The Watcher” among all new series. True, the very dynamics of demand for this project was very unusual.

Typically, the lion’s share of viewing occurs in the first fifteen days after the premiere, but the demand for “Wednesday” was much longer. According to various estimates, its audience increased within forty days and as a result, the series became the winner, although it lost to the fourth season of Stranger Things (these figures were not taken into account, because the series is not new) and lost at the Golden Globe Award to House of the Dragon .

However, the old logic of evaluating the success of various projects is rapidly becoming obsolete. Now social media can become a big engine for the series, and here “Wednesday” was out of competition. The dance scene of the main character became a real sensation and turned into a viral video. It seemed that these movements are absolutely everywhere, including different star accounts. Most likely, that is why the series has received a whole army of fans among children and young people, which provided the show with a long demand.

Such success in many ways looks a little far-fetched. It turns out that the project shot not because it is unconditionally good, but thanks to one scene that gave rise to mass hysteria. In any case, this is a great incentive for directors and producers to learn how to shoot such scenes.
