The fallout continues after Tadej Pogacar’s impressive season debut. The way in which he won the Clasica Jaén Paraiso, is now known, was planned by his directors and executed to perfection by the Slovenian, with such ease that one of his classmates compared it to a video game.

“It was like playing PlayStation,” said Tim Wellens, who first met the UAE prodigy. “Tadej perfectly executed the tactics we talked about before,” the Belgian told Het Nieuwsblad. “I was scheduled to attack at that exact location. The fact that we later added other places of honor shows that we are all in great shape”, continued the former Lotto player.

Asked about the experience of running alongside Pogacar and not having him as a rival, Wellens was blunt. “It’s nice to know that with him you have almost 80% of the victory guaranteed. In addition, he pushes us to be better with his presence, ”he shot.

“When I was in Lotto I had to respond to what he did, now I traveled comfortably by wheel thanks to him and that is an advantage”, closed the experienced and versatile runner.
