Due to a malfunction in the railway electrical system, which was discovered at the end of maintenance and upgrading of the electrical system that took place during the night (Thursday), train traffic was temporarily stopped at Ra’anana, Hod Hasharon, KPS, Pet, Rosh Ha’Ein and Bnei Brak stations.
The Israel Railways stated: “It is recommended to use alternative public transportation. In addition, the shuttles will be stationed at the closed stations. We are working to repair the malfunction and restore traffic to normal and apologize for the inconvenience.”
In the meantime, a man entered the track area contrary to the instructions at the Tel Aviv Savidor Central station, and was hit by a passing train. The Israel Railways stated that “emergency and rescue teams of the Israel Railways MDA and the police are on the scene. Due to the incident, there may be delays in the movement of trains in the Tel Aviv area.”
