After surgery: Spurs in the derby against West Ham without coach Conte | free press

English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur will be without coach Antonio Conte in Sunday’s London derby against West Ham United.

The Italian, who recently had gallbladder surgery, will continue to recover from the consequences of the operation in his home country, the club said. The 53-year-old stayed in Italy for a routine check-up after Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat by AC Milan in the Champions League.

“Health is the most important thing and everyone at the club wishes him well,” said the fifth-placed Premier League player. Conte will be represented in the home game by assistant Cristian Stellini. This is a good omen for Spurs: the north Londoners have won the previous two games with Stellini as Conte’s replacement. (dpa)
