The government has determined the timing of the introduction of free telecom services in new territories

The introduction of free telecom services in new regions of the Russian Federation will not take place immediately, follows from a government decree published on the official portal of legal information on February 15, 2023.

Telecom operators in new territories (in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions) were given a delay until December 31, 2024 to introduce a service for free access to socially significant sites, which is provided for under the Russian program “Accessible Internet”, the resolution says. And until December 31, 2023, TV companies from these regions are exempted from the free provision of services for calling emergency services to Russian numbers, as well as the free transmission of emergency emergency alert signals.
