The lawyer of the woman who was arrested yesterday said that Prithvi Shah beat her with a bat while intoxicated. Prithvi’s friend’s car was vandalized by a gang after he refused to take a selfie. The lawyer of Sapna Gill, who was arrested in this case, has come forward with allegations against Prithvi.
Eight people are involved in the case related to the incident. Speaking to ANI, Gill’s lawyer Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh said that Prithvi hit the woman with a bat. Sapna Gill, who is active on social media, approached Prithvi Shah as a fan to take a selfie with her. Prithvi Shah was drunk. He approached Sapna with his bat. and hit. The lawyer said that the next day he went to the police and lodged a complaint.
The lawyer stated that he will file a complaint against the cricketer in the incident. Now, we will file a case against Prithvi Shah for drunk driving. He had rammed the car into a bike. We will file a case against him under sections 354, 509 and 334 for hitting Swapna with a bat. Swapna Gill and Prithvi Shah have no previous relationship. She went to take a selfie with him. We are trying to get bail and after this we will file the case,” he added.
A case has been registered against the accused at the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai under the sections of illegal assembly and money extortion. After damaging the complainant’s car, he demanded Rs.50,000. One suspect has been arrested and efforts are on to nab the others, police said.
Prithvi Shah is said to have taken a selfie with the woman and assaulted her a second time after the batter refused to take a closer selfie. Shah was in the car when the accused attacked.
