The evolution of consumer habits, the adoption of the digital transformation of businesses and the context generated by the pandemic have led to an unprecedented boom in electronic commerce. The figures indicate that in Mexico 83% of Internet users make purchases through delivery platforms.
According to the Mexican Association of Online Sales, Mexico is for the third consecutive year in the top 5 countries with the highest growth in electronic retail commerce.
At the end of 2021, electronic commerce in Mexico registered a growth of 81% compared to the previous yearhighlighting that, of the sales generated by the retail channel, 11.3% of these are already operations through electronic commerce.
The development of light responds to the needs of people, especially the digital buyer, who identifies savings, immediacy, convenience and local impact. These are all the factors by which you have adopted e-commerce in your daily life.
“The medicines and health care products sector is not exempt from the growth dynamics of electronic commerce. During 2021, online purchases of these items experienced a rebound of 19% and today, they represent 14% of total shipments for delivery platforms,” says Gerardo Urzúa Garcia, Co-Founder & Chief Business Development Officer of Livian.
How does it work?
Based on the above, Livian is a digital pharmacy that works by downloading an app. To date it has a wide variety of drugs available but it also stands out for home delivery. As part of the evolution of the health sector, the electronic prescription is in a moment of acceptance by doctors and pharmacies.
“We believe in the democratization of the pharmaceutical industry. We identify the needs of neighborhood pharmacies, of which we know that only 26% have home deliveries. That is why we want to boost the competitiveness of these businesses by bringing the option of digitizing to the independent pharmacy, thus being closer to our users”.
This platform will be available for download at the end of February with coverage of operations in Mexico City and the metropolitan area. Although it also has an expansion plan to the rest of the republic in the coming months.
