In the streets of these areas and on the East Coast Road, street lights have been installed for night illumination, with high tower lights at major junctions.
The panchayat administration should light them at night and switch them off during the day. Managements are also indifferent.
The concerned employee does not switch off the lights in the morning and continues to shine during the day. The tower light shall operate in automatic mode from 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
But it often breaks down. So, instead of glowing at night, it glows during the day.
As a result, the electricity is wasted without use and increases the electricity bill cost. Residents of the area have alleged that they are wasting electricity without paying the electricity board.
Social activists insist on regular operation of lights.
