BENGALURU—The Karnataka High Court has refused to quash the case registered against four people for attempting to forcibly convert them.

Kunjumon, 50, Leni Kunjumon, 45, Sainu, 48, and Mary John, 47, who live in Uppinangadi, Puthar taluk of Dakshina Kannada, campaigned against Hinduism.

They tried to forcibly convert Hindus from poor families. They also attacked someone who knocked on it. This incident took place in 2011.

On this complaint, the Puthar police registered a case under the Prohibition of Religious Conversion Act against all four people. The four filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court seeking quashing of the case against them.

The petition was being investigated. The hearing was held before Justice Natarajan yesterday. After hearing arguments from both sides, he refused to quash the case registered against the four. He also dismissed their pleas.
