Florence is art, history, elegance, craftsmanship, beauty. Every year young people from all over the world choose the Tuscan capital to deepen their cultural training, making a precious contribution of internationality and a contemporary and multicultural facet to the social life of the city. Florence enters your heart, it becomes part of the educational growth of young students, it merges with the cultural background in a métissage between past and future. Florence has always been an integral part of Polimoda’s DNA, and Polimoda students are increasingly becoming an integral part of city life.

From this inseparable bond the digital exhibition Postcards from Florence was born, conceived by Polimoda and online starting today 21 April. 30 young creatives from all over the world, associated with as many iconic places. Symbols of that Florence, an international spokesperson for beauty and culture. Over 150 black and white shots accompanied by the words, slogans, poems and feelings of the students. A curated collection that tells the city as, without filters, young people see and experience it today.

Evocative shots taken during a suspended 2020. Fragments of a semi-deserted, silent city that hides the faces of students immersed in a new distance learning. Rhythms punctuated by online lessons. The fear that merges with pride and the desire to leave again, to affirm a dream. Glances of proud young people from different nationalities. Unique and beautiful in their diversity, immersed in those streets and squares that have become their second home. The absolute protagonists are the students of Polimoda, immortalized together with the history of the city, in those places that saw the Florentine Renaissance and are now ready to become a new cradle.

Starting from the city map, visitors can virtually move through different Florentine locations, let themselves be carried away by the images and at the same time get to know the boys through their portraits and their stories. The online platform includes students’ self-discovery stories, which reveal their personal experiences of life abroad in the Renaissance city.
