The Senegalese striker should be ready for the Champions League return match against Paris SG on March 8.

Senegalese international Sadio Mané made his return to collective training with Bayern Munich on Sunday morning, one week before the Bundesliga clash against Union Berlin and two and a half weeks before the knockout round of the Champions League against Paris.

«This feeling is just fantastic“, Sadio Mané dropped, blue shorts raised above the calves and red t-shirt, before putting on his tracksuit top, when treading the Säbener Strasse training ground.

The 2022 African champion trained with the full Munich squad for the first time since his injury in early November at the Allianz Arena against Werder Bremen.

Hit in the fibula against Werder, Mané was operated on in stride and was deprived of the World Cup with Senegal. He resumed running on January 24, then touched the ball again a week later.

Bayern’s flagship summer recruit, however, he could not be lined up for the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League at the Parc des Princes against PSG (Bayern 1-0 victory).

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann said on Friday that with a full week of training Mané could be integrated into the squad, as the clash against Union Berlin looms in seven days at the Allianz Arena.

After their victory in Paris, Bayern fell on Saturday in Mönchengladbach (3-2) after being reduced to ten from the 9th minute. The reigning tenfold German champions are under threat from Union Berlin, a point behind (42 against 43) but who face bottom side Schalke on Sunday afternoon.

Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui, who touched the ball on Thursday, is expected to resume collective training on Wednesday.
