Where is the war in Ukraine? A year ago, on February 24, 2022, many were worried about a lightning victory for the Russian army, launched with drum beating in “Special Operation” of Vladimir Putin. In less than a week, the Russian tanks are forty kilometers from kyiv, the Ukrainian capital. A year later, however, the situation on the front seems frozen, and the Ukrainian army has regained a large part of the areas occupied by the Russians, who could launch a new offensive.
How was Ukraine able to reclaim so much territory? How did the Ukrainian army manage to resist a Russian army reputed to be vastly superior, in terms of both men and equipment?
