More than 100 criminals are arrested on the first day of Carnival in SP – News

The Military Police of the state of São Paulo arrested, just last Friday (17), 117 people during the first day of the Carnaval. Of these, 55 were wanted by the court. The balance was released by the SSP (Secretary of Public Security) on Saturday night (18).

Policing was reinforced during the days of revelry, with approximately 14,000 military police on the streets per day.

In addition, 2,970 motorcycles were inspected and 174 of them seized. Seven motorcycles that had been stolen were located.

Police also found 15 illegal firearms and 469,704 kilos of seized narcotics.

Operation Carnival began on February 11th and should last until next Sunday (26th).
