Body found floating in river 1 km from where mother of two girls disappeared in England – News

by time news

The disappearance of a 45-year-old British woman, Nicola Bulley, mother of two daughters, in the county of Lancashire, northwest of England, had this Sunday (19) another new chapter. Two people called the police after spotting a body floating in a river, a kilometer from where Nicola was last seen.

The woman disappeared 23 days ago, on the morning of January 27, after dropping off her two daughters at school. She was last seen walking the family pet Willow along the banks of the River Wyre in St Michael’s on Wyre shortly after 9am.

Less than an hour later, her cell phone was found on a bench still connected to a video call, while her dog was out running alone.

Lancashire Police have confirmed that a body has been found, but the corpse has yet to be identified.

Police action has been criticized

Lancashire Police have been heavily criticized for the way they are conducting the investigation. The police force revealed Nicola’s problems with alcohol and menopause; and there was outrage at the way they released intimate details of their private lives into the public domain.

Police chiefs have since pledged to conduct an internal review.

On social media, citizens have sided with Nicola’s family and daughters, repressing the way the investigation is conducted.

The author of this tweet reads: “While identification has not yet been made, our thoughts are with the #NicolaBulley family. Her family needs no speculation at this time, just some privacy and respect. Two little girls are missing their mother, think of them”.

In this other post, the reader mourns for the family and fiercely criticizes the police’s actions: “Two little girls must now deal not only with the loss of their mother, but also with their reputation that was destroyed by @LancsPolice. Remarkable that it was not the police who found her” (free translation).
