Sivagangai,- There are 445 village panchayats in 12 unions in Sivagangai district. The roads connecting the villages are mostly unmaintained and in bad condition with bumps and potholes.
The panchayat administrations complain to the union and district administrations about this.
All the rural roads are uploaded online where they have been set up and permission for road construction is given by the central government.
Of this, 90 percent of the roads are completely damaged and missing, the Union administrations upload them online only. Online Central Government gives permission for rural road rehabilitation works only after knowing the importance of that road. Due to this, most of the villagers are unable to use the rural roads.
