Covid green card: certification will be issued to vaccinated, cured of Coronavirus and those who carry out a rapid or molecular swab that is negative

On April 26, Italy will see some light after the second lockdown. The Government has arranged for the reopening of various activities, although the duration of the curfew from 10 pm to 5 am has been extended until the end of July. Among the most important innovations is the so-called Covid green card, or more correctly “green certification”, which is a document that will allow you to move between regions of different colors. The latter will remain in force until the launch of the DGC-Digital Green Certificate, which will be valid throughout the European Union.

Covid green card: how to obtain it and who issues it

The Covid Green Card is issued upon administration of the first dose of Coronavirus vaccine. At the moment it is not clear whether it will be in paper or digital format but it will be filled in by the facility where the vaccine was carried out. The Covid green card will contain the health file together with personal data and the number of vaccine doses administered compared to those foreseen. Those who have already completed the course of treatment can request the Covid green card from the health facility, the Region or the Province.

As for the recovered people, also in this case the Covid green card will be issued by the structure where the hospitalization took place. If the treatment took place at home, however, it will be necessary to request it from the general practitioner or pediatrician. The Covid green card will no longer be valid in the event that the holder is again positive for Covid-19. The healing certificates issued before the decree comes into force will remain valid within 6 months from the date on the document.

Finally, the Covid green card can also be requested by those who will carry out a rapid or molecular antigen test that results negative. The travel pass will last 48 hours and will be issued by the facility where the swab was made.

It is important to underline that anyone who falsifies the Covid green card risks imprisonment pursuant to paragraph 2 of article 13 of the criminal code.
