The Irish federation revealed on Monday the group of 37 players who will travel to Rome to challenge Italy on Saturday (3:15 p.m.) in the 3e day of the Six Nations Tournament. Hooker Dan Sheehan, prop Cian Healy and fly-half Joey Carbery return with the Clover XV. The latter could compensate for a possible package from Johnny Sexton, injured in the thigh against France and who “continues his rehabilitation”. The absence of Carbery, 37 caps, in the group had surprised before the first two matches of Ireland in the competition.

In addition to the absences of Jamison Gibson-Park (hamstrings), Robbie Henshaw (wrist) and Tadhg Furlong (calf), still unavailable, are those of winger Keith Earls (calf). Tadhg Beirne and Joe McCarthy, injured against France, will miss the rest of the competition. Rob Herring, victim of a concussion on the big tackle of Uini Atonio which earned a suspension to the French pillar, is part of this group of 37 players.
