Kerala enters the final round of Santosh Trophy football. Kerala defeated Puducherry in the final match of the Southern Region Group B qualifying round to advance to the final round.

Kerala, who had earlier won two matches in the regional group round, could have advanced to the final round if they had drawn with Puducherry. Kerala entered the final round with nine points after defeating Puducherry by four goals to one and securing their third win.

Kerala took the first lead in the 21st minute against Puducherry. Nijo Gilbert scored Kerala’s first goal from the penalty spot. Arjun Jayaraj’s goal gave Kerala the lead in the third minute.

Anson C Anto Puducherry scored the consolation goal in the 39th minute. At the end of the first half Kerala had a two goal lead against one.

In the 55th minute of the second half, Noufal’s goal gave Kerala a three goal lead against one. Bujir scored Kerala’s fourth goal in two minutes.

In the first matches of the group round, Kerala defeated Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar. Kerala defeated Andaman and Nicobar by nine wickets.
