Taking the reins: Brooklyn Nets coach Jacques Vaughn will extend his contract until the end of the 2026/27 season and shed the interim coach label.
As you may remember, the coach stepped into Steve Nash’s shoes on November 1 and since then he has led the team to a 19:32 record under him, the fifth best in the league during this period. Now the Nets are ranked fifth in the standings with a record of 24:34 and having changed their face following the trades for Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
“Jacques has made an immediate impact on our entire organization since taking over as head coach earlier this season,” said the Brooklyn GM. Sean Marks“On the field, he clearly demonstrated his leadership through his ability to connect and communicate at a very high level while displaying great instincts for the game. As a person, there are no better than Jacques.”
