Puducherry: ‘Prepaid electricity tariff scheme should be cancelled’, Puducherry Indian Commune Secretary Salim said.

In his interview yesterday:

People in Puducherry are suffering because electricity charges have already been hiked several times. In this case, the prepaid system will affect people a lot. Therefore, the government should cancel this scheme.

In a situation where the exams are approaching, the electricity connection is disconnected for non-payment of electricity bills. In this, great prejudice is shown. No action is taken against those who have arrears of several lakhs of rupees. The authorities should publish the list of people who have electricity bill arrears of more than Rs.50 thousand.

Lately, more and more bars are being allowed, called resto bars. As a result of this, there will be cultural degradation, the Indian Commune directly steps into the field and conducts a protest.

Cases have been registered against those who protested democratically and against women. They came on bail after paying a fine of Rs.25 thousand. The attitude of the government in this matter is strict. The Indian Communist Party is not afraid of this. Let’s intensify the struggle.

Protests are going on in places like Samipillaithottam and Uzhavagarai against the opening of the liquor shop. Opening a resto bar in Puducherry. But, ration shops were not opened. This is what N.R. Congress, – BJP, government policy? said.

Former minister Viswanathan, former MLA Nara Kalainathan, deputy secretary Sethu Selvam, national committee member Dinesh Ponnaiah were present.
